“When people criticize Zionists, they mean Jews. You’re talking
anti-Semitism!”

- Martin Luther King jr

@MMH its a slippery slop when governments think creating new laws will stop "critisim" of them or that it'll even stop misinformation being spread

And EU law is on that slope along with many, many governments all over the world - some aren't as harsh as others though but all the laws can be amended by others - point is politicians think this is a fix to a problem when it is not

UK online safety bill also and Scottish new hate crime law are two examples also

395 people charged, at least 362 are men

More than 110 people have already been sentenced, with most sent to jail.

Just shows how overcrowded the prisons are if they can't even handle an influx of this size - which isn't that big - for one prison yes it is a big influx to handle but not everyone charged is going to same prison - it depends on where they were arrested what prison they'll go to

Operation Early Dawn is a contingency that allows defendants waiting for a court appearance to be kept in police cells until prison space is available

Operation Early Dawn was previously triggered by the Conservative government in May in a bid to tackle overcrowding in jails.

government announced quick sentencing for those involved in the riots in UK - But the POA's, Prison Officers' Association, national chairman told BBC Radio 4's Broadcasting House programme this risked "clogging up prison cells" Mark Fairhurst said he would not be "surprised" if the Ministry of Justice at some point on Monday morning announced that "Operation Early Dawn kicks into play at some point next week".

While there's no clarity on the government's next move, the proposed legislation would require social media creators to register with the government, set up a content evaluation committee that checks all content before it is published, and appoint complaint handlers > all at their own expense. Any failures in compliance could lead to criminal charges, including jail term

Over 785 Indian creators have sent a letter to the government seeking more transparency in the process of drafting the bill

Creators and digital rights activists believe the potential legislation will tighten the government's grip over online content and threaten the last bastion of press freedom for independent journalists in the country.

Creators using hashtags like are making videos to educate their followers about the proposal.
