Everything truly does happen for a reason! There are no coincidences! I realized that by the flooring being defective worked out, since I'm realizing that I'm not as thrilled with it when I picked it out! Even though it's a PIA to have to pick out new flooring and have it installed, it worked out as it was meant to be! 🤣

On the flip side, I accomplished everything that I set out to do today! It's amazing how a good night's sleep makes all of the difference!

@duglop @Spagesgallo1 hmm I think the last time I actually slept was maybe April of 1973. Lol I still have to wake up and walk the perimeter every night. I am pretty sure I have actually done that in my sleep too. Could explain why I wake up so exhausted. 🤔

@Wolfman @duglop

Wow! 1973? Were you in the military? I ask, because of you mentioning your need to walk the perimeter every night! Not surprised you wake up so exhausted! When I was working,
I used to wake up in the middle of the night with panic attacks and an absolute sense of dread! Have you spoken to your doctor about the issues with your sleep? Nothing worse than having sleep deficits! 😔

@Spagesgallo1 @duglop yes I was in the Military. And yes I have had VA mental health trying to improve my sleep for decades.
They tell me that Hyper Vigilance isn't necessary. I ask them how they know that it isn't what has kept me alive.
I went to bed tonight at 9PM. But at 1AM I am wide awake. An unusual noise woke me and I still don't know what it was. Unfortunately there are thousands of Vets who deal with this and other Stress issues that we have had to learn to deal with on our own.

@Wolfman @Spagesgallo1 I feel you - I'm also a Vet with PTSD & anxiety, medications don't help at all and besides I hate feeling medicated (I'm10 years sober to boot), the only thing that seems to help is music, and animals and being outdoors - working off my energy at work seems to help too - but I'm not young anymore so it wears me out quickly now :( my anxiety interferes with me at work when it gets super crazy busy - no win scenario :( and a good night sleep is a whole different story

@duglop @Spagesgallo1 yeah me too. I get a good night sleep if you can call it that when I need sleep so bad I collapse into an unconscious slumber.

@duglop @Spagesgallo1 I can relate to music, animals and the outdoors.
I can see one house from mine and it's at least a mile in any direction to another house. I am a fantastic neighbor but I have only had one and I have lived next door to him for 30 years. Lol we have the crossfire defense worked our to an exact science. He watches out for me and I wath out for him.

@Wolfman that's wonderful you look out for each other. Just thinking out loud would it help for you two to have motion lights, sound, and dog/geese/guinea? That might buy some peace of mind knowing that anything in a certain vicinity would trigger something. Motion sound and lights may trigger off animals a few times but usually they are intelligent enough to stay away from it later. Where I am there are vets and a lot of dogs. The dogs trigger off sirens or people. @duglop @Spagesgallo1

@duglop @Wolfman

Dug, thank you for your service as well! I am so sorry that you are also affected by PTSD and anxiety! It always breaks my heart knowing that our Veterans are suffering! But, Congratulations on 10 years of sobriety! I'm happy you have found methods to help calm you. Music and animals can definitely be very therapeutic!
