I was all of 13 years old during the blizzard of 78 living in Western NY (close to Buffalo) we had to shovel snow for days... but that was the best year ever for sledding
@PussyFootingAround very much so - but living in WNY is a crap shoot in winter - storms would form between the great lakes and would dump lake effect snow on us all the time but it would depend on which lake the system came off of as to who would get belted the worst

the last amazing snow I remember was somewhere around 2010 and there was a blizzard and as I left my BK apartment to meet a friend in the city, I feel on my back in front of this like chop shop. I laid there & just created snow angels for 5 minutes laughing to myself like a crazy person having the time of my life.
By the time I met my friend, she asked me why I was so happy and I told her and she just smiled at me like I lost it. Good to be a kid for a sec
I will never forget that Blizzard. I was in HS. Best school snow days ever! 😊
