Hey my #Scotland friends, I tried #haggis for the first time in my life - I liked it! It reminded me of foie gras, and then it hit me - it's marketing why haggis is not more widely embraced. "Haggis" doesn't sound appetizing, exotic. What y'all have is "Scottish pate" or "Highland pate" or "glen pate" or something of that sort!
@sonnybillglover Okay, I will try that! (the local pub in our neighbourhood shares their family recipe with love, a snifter of Glenlivet or Glenfiddich should be perfect!)
@duaneaubin
Sign me up! That sounds grand.
@sonnybillglover I will circle back after my next visit :-) (hame'll dae me).
@duaneaubin Glad you liked it. We can also recommend cock-a-leekie, cranachan, and black bun - which you are equally free to call whatever you like. 😀
@SandyMacpherson Thanks! Looking forward to trying them all! Interestingly, these all (except the cranachan) apparently have some background connection to France.
@duaneaubin
And, you gotta smother it with “Scottish gravy” (that means a full pour of Scotch Whiskey!)
