I can't with the fucking mealy-mouthed criticism of Trump's flagrant authoritarianism. "Trump promised to be a dictator on Day 1. That rhetoric threatens to throw into question the potential legal quandaries raised by an attempt to theoretically hinder the effective functionality of democratic precedent."

they say this like it's surprising that, of the people who even survived the assault in the first place, few of them lived to 100 YEARS OLD. next you'll be like "it's the 200th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. all the survivors are already dead."

when are we going to accept that when Israel says they're targeting "Hamas," they mean ALL Palestinians? even if they didn't, even if they were literally only targeting actual Hamas fighters, YOU DON'T GET TO BOMB SCHOOLS. We weren't bombing German schools in WW2 going "well we were targeting Nazis," if the choice is blowing up children or letting terrorists live, YOU LET THE TERRORISTS LIVE. otherwise just admit you're trying to exterminate Palestinians.

can someone answer a couple questions for me:

1) this only affects the Fani Willis case, not the documents case in FL or the two federal cases led by Jack Smith, right?

2) ON WHAT FUCKING GROUNDS?!

so can I look forward to Donald Trump being tried on 40,000 counts of lying while he was in office? they haven't even been counting how many lies he's told since he left office.

how about "everyone who wants one"? what's unclear about that? better yet, how about we just do away with asylum hearings, everyone who claims they are in danger can stay, and we just focus on getting rid of the violent criminals? because unless you're one of the cartel/gang members, I really don't care what your story is. immigrants start businesses, contribute to communities & lower crime. there is no reason to gatekeep who can call the US their home.

well yeah, that was when the president was the guy who tried to start the Holocaust 2: Electric Boogaloo

so they've created a Catch-22, where you have to claim that your life is in danger outside the US while spending months or years waiting outside the US. so if they survive to see their case come before a judge, they just disproved their claim, and if they get murdered in the meantime, oh well, one less brown person in the country.

"Americans like immigrants, just not A LOT of immigrants and they want to play God and decide who deserves to stay and live or go back and die."

proving that it's not about "legal immigration," it's just xenophobia. and I don't care to pander to xenophobia. if 90% of Americans voted to reinstate concentration camps for immigrants, I would tell them all to go fuck themselves. the majority doesn't get what they want when they're being racist shitheads.

"the number of people crossing the border in the 70s was far lower than today" YEAH CAUSE THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE ON THE PLANET WAS FAR LOWER THAN TODAY, DIPSHIT. YOU HAVE TO COMPARE RATIOS.

worth noting that THAT IS OBTAINING LEGAL PERMISSION. step 1 of the asylum process, which gives you LEGAL PERMISSION to stay in the US while your case is decided, is to set foot on US soil, surrender to border agents and claim asylum. THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE *SUPPOSED* TO DO.

I FAIL TO SEE THE PROBLEM. you claimed asylum, some prick judge took half a decade to decide you don't count, but you're not a violent criminal or a threat to public safety. why should I care if you leave?! why should I want you to leave? you've been here for several years, obviously making a living for yourself and integrating into society, blending in... what's the fucking problem?

the utter caucasity to say "migrants aren't being persecuted, they just want to move here because it's politically freer and less violent"... you do not have to be the target of a literal genocide to be justified in seeking asylum (and if you did, I notice you left off Palestinians in your list of valid asylum-seekers).

migrants from Central America are absolutely being persecuted and killed by drug cartels and gangs. they deserve asylum.

didn't NYT Pitchbot do bits about "vibes" and the "vibes forecast" all the time?

and shouldn't it be "vibecession"?

straight up horrifying and exactly what the first amendment was supposed to prevent. if you can't afford the tuition to send your kid to a "2+2=Jesus" school then you'll just have to send them to a real school to get an actual education, oh noes
