didn't NYT Pitchbot do bits about "vibes" and the "vibes forecast" all the time?
and shouldn't it be "vibecession"?
@dietotaku The economy being up for the stock market, or for some giant corporation, or hearing that our productivity resulted in there being a huge GDP and a bunch of money being made doesn't matter all that much to the people who don't actually get to participate in that.
Rich people getting richer because we worked harder and paid more doesn't lift my spirits even a tiny bit.
If that pie got shared, we might have an opinion on how it tastes. All I can say is "I sure wouldn't know".
@AskTheDevil yep. "stocks are up!" i don't own stock. "record jobs numbers!" i know, i have 3 of them. "huge GDP growth!" how about a huge growth in my wages? "no you have too much money, you're causing inflation, have some record high interest rates."
@dietotaku Yep. It's almost like everything is rigged so that the wealthiest get the largest slice, and everyone else absorbs the labor, costs, and risk.
@dietotaku It's weird how telling people the economy is better doesn't raise the moods of people who are still paying too much, working too hard, and not seeing any evidence in their day to day lives.
