of course they did it for a Republican. and they were wrong too. if I dump a bunch of lavish gifts in your lap and then say "gimme the hookup with your connections," that's a clear quid pro quo. politicians should be barred from accepting gifts, period.

Also, yes, she's a great singer; but she's an even better comedic actress. She's wasting her talent.
@danalan I think that, much like Justin Timberlake, there's more opportunity to bank on singing talent than comedic acting talent. which is unfortunate, because I love comedy, but it doesn't get the acclaim it deserves either in society or at awards ceremonies.
Surely she can do both - she's really quite good.
