first of all, one state barring Trump from the ballot doesn't give that state control over the entire election. Trump's not going to win Colorado even if he IS on the ballot.
but individual states decide elections all the time. Trump was only president in the first place because of Michigan. if you don't want "one state deciding an election" then abolish the fucking electoral college already and do this shit on a national popular vote.
except the voters aren't going to be deciding whether or not Trump is FIT to be president, just whether or not they WANT him to be president. and as Republicans have already made clear, they want him to be president no matter what he does. hell, they would vote for him to be president if his J6 speech had literally said "I AM LEADING AN INSURRECTION AGAINST THE US TO SEIZE POWER INDEFINITELY AND DISMANTLE THIS UNION AND ITS DEMOCRACY." they are not voting with integrity.
um, the events of January 6th were definitely organized - we have literally convicted the non-presidents who organized it - and the effort was definitely concerted, and the goal was definitely to overthrow the government - specifically to use violence to override the government's certification of the election results in order to replace the duly-elected president with the loser. so how is that not an insurrection?
@dietotaku Aryan Alito wants a WHITE Christian America run by right-wing billionaire fascists who view the 99% as nothing more than pawns and cannon fodder. His ancestors should have been barred from immigrating to America!!!
@dietotaku Wow. I didn't know Michigan was the decider. Makes me believe even more Bill Clinton was the domino that won it for Trump. Yuk.
@Klaatu_Veratta_Nectarine what does Michigan have against Bill Clinton?
@dietotaku This thing happened right before voting went down. He came to Michigan as a last minute thing to "help" he was in Flint Michigan ( think lead poisoning) someone asked if Hillary would once again take up National Healthcare. He went on this thing about how the US would NEVER have national healthcare. My heart sank.
@Klaatu_Veratta_Nectarine fwiw I consider Michigan the deciding vote because (a) they have more electoral votes than Wisconsin [16-10] and (b) their margin was the closest, with Trump winning by just over 10,000 votes [he won Wisconsin by 22k and Pennsylvania by 44k]
actually, I'm pretty sure the drafters of the 14th amendment just wanted states to stop sending literal Civil War officers and traitors right back to Congress. like you just got done trying to destroy this country, you don't get to saunter back in and pretend you're going to represent its best interests.
