I watched The Last Starfighter last night through a powerful lens of nostalgia and liked it quite a bit. Sure, some of the effects aren't great, but they were cutting edge at the time. Still, a really fun movie. I was also excited to spot an appearance of 'The Most Important Device in the Universe'.
