I took a good look around the house and threw away my copy of "Spark Joy: An Illustrated Master Class on the Art of Organizing and Tidying Up". Done.

I just got back from the Future!
Don't go there.

I was going to stay home on New Year's Eve, but the cover charge is killer.

"This was the funniest one I could think of" is really the only reasonable explanation I can imagine for just about everything.

I, too, dream of one day being cooked in a giant toaster.

I went to my parent's house yesterday and my father says, out of the blue, 'Melania Trump is the most beautiful woman in the world'. I only muttered, 'oh, for fucks sake' and bit my cheek until it bled, so he got an extra Christmas present this year.

Just when I think I may just about get through the holidays Amazon photo memories has to pop up on my computer and absolutely crush me...

Think skeletons are scary?
Well bad news, there's one in the room with you right now!

My sister has been doing a lot of pottery this year. She made herself a dinnerware set that is simply exquisite. When you confided to me she was making everyone pottery pieces for Christmas I thought that was very nice. Everyone got lovely bowls, vases, etc. Then she gave me mine and I think it may be the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

Happy Boxing Day!
Boxing day, as you know, is named in honor of the big boxing match Jesus has against Satan every year the day after his birthday to determine who gets to rule the Earth the following year.

"Kallikantzaroi emerge from the depths of the Earth during the Dodekaimero, the 12 days spanning Christmas to the Epiphany, wreaking havoc. There are many remedies to keep them at bay: burning a pair of old shoes, placing colanders on one’s doorstep, or hanging a pig’s jaw over a home’s main door. But what ultimately drives these creatures back into the underworld is the Blessing of the Waters ceremony that occurs every year, and a kind of polar plunge that follows it."

I fixed a broken recliner, their computer, and managed to avoid any political arguments so I count this Christmas as a win!

Well, I'm off to a lovely Christmas at my parent's house where I will try my best to avoid fighting with my crazy right-wing relatives. Fortunately I'm sure there are things that need fixing around the house.
