While we lament the assaults on America’s democracy, don’t lose sight of the courageous folks in fighting with everything they have to defend their democracy. Would we fight as tenaciously for ours? Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that, but we take the success of our American experiment for granted at our peril.

Normally, a candlelight vigil evokes feelings of reflection and hope. This past Friday’s vigil, sadly, evoked feelings of anger. In March 2022, a local prayer and peace vigil drew over 400 people, remarkable in a small town here in North Carolina. Friday’s vigil drew 50-60 people. I worry that the Ukrainian immigrants who attended both events thought interest in their struggle was waning, but the problem was *abysmal publicity*. Nobody even knew this was happening.

I attended a local candlelight vigil for this evening. It was very poorly publicized and drew only 50-60 people. The same group’s 2022 vigil at this spot drew over 400 people. I felt badly for the Ukrainian folks who attended both events and fear that they may see this as a loss of interest and commitment from the American people.

After a year of unimaginable terrorism perpetrated by , still stands, thanks to the patriotism, courage, and tenacity of the Ukrainian people. America, where people relinquish the chance to vote in a light drizzle, could learn a lot about true love of country and the need to defend our democracy from enemies foreign and domestic.

If any of your besotted MAGA acquaintances say *one single word* against President Biden’s courageous trip to , feel free to remind them that skipped the 2018 World War I memorial ceremony for America. Good morning from Little Miss Attitude who knew right away on inauguration night that President Biden would calm things down and get America back in track. She’s not the least bit surprised that he went to to support and the people in their epic battle against the forces of true evil.

For anyone who has ever had daunting new challenges dumped on them at work, please spare a care for and the people of who have endured ONE YEAR of apocalyptic terrorism perpetrated by the sadistic Russian invaders.

According to UK intelligence, 97% of Russia’s army is currently in . That’s unreal. It’s also a huge testament to the brilliance of , the continuing commitment of allied nations, and the courage and tenacity of the Ukrainian people. It also suggests that, if someone wanted to attack Russia, this might be an opportune time to do it…

My hope is that the people of will one day soon be able to sleep soundly in safety and security, free from the constant fear of attack.

Good morning to the and the dogs of who have their paws full caring for their humans in the midst of war, cold, hunger, and terror.

Imagine addressing the World Economic Forum in Davos amidst the ongoing terrorism ravaging knowing that most if not all of the of the attendees would rather enrich themselves with billions in wealth than contribute a penny to defend Democracy.

Good morning to all the of who are the truest of therapy dogs supporting their long-suffering humans, and good morning to all the who serve in solidarity with their pack mates.

If you’re in and thinking about sitting it this runoff election, remember: the people of are risking absolutely everything to fight for their democracy. The least you can do to preserve ours is to VOTE and !

Remembering the frenzy of engagement when the war began, and how much attention was focused on helping refugees, families in peril, and the military. Even in my small town, we held an immense peace vigil and collected containers full of clothing and supplies that a local automobile shipper transported to Poland, then Ukraine. Now, as a nightmarish winter begins without electricity, water, heat, food, and medical care, I’m looking for opportunities to do more.

If you need some more wind beneath your wings to get out and , do it as an act of solidarity with the people of . They’re risking absolutely everything to defend their . The least we can do is vote in record numbers to defend OURS!
