I attended a local candlelight vigil for this evening. It was very poorly publicized and drew only 50-60 people. The same group’s 2022 vigil at this spot drew over 400 people. I felt badly for the Ukrainian folks who attended both events and fear that they may see this as a loss of interest and commitment from the American people.

@cassandra17lina well, if you happen to see any of the Ukrainian folks around please let them know there are still a lot of us who think about them and the people of Ukraine like every single day. We have not forgotten at all.

@Billibatt exactly right. I blame the organizers who could have leveraged their connections with other local groups to publicize the event. Instead, they placed a small write up in the newspaper that came out a day before the event.

@Billibatt @cassandra17lina Billibatt is so right. Almost the first thing I do every morning is reach for my phone for news about Ukraine. Also, hoping every day for news that Putin is gone and someone much more benevolent has taken over.
