A nation’s literature explains a lot about their ethos. Having studied Russian literature in college, I offer this observation. War, death, poverty, and societal ills loom large, as do themes of unfairness and the inability to overcome “the system” and corrupt bureaucrats. Unless you’re wealthy or powerful, life holds very little for you. There’s nothing left to do but inflict the misery on others. Seeing how the MAGA Republicans attack Kamala as a woman and a person of color and a stepmother, why not make Mayor Pete Buttiggieg her VP? That way, Team Trump will drive away women, people of color, LGBTQ folks, stepparents, adoptive parents, infertile people, and their loved ones and allies. The handful of angry, white, allegedly heterosexual men can’t win an election. #Politics
