Advice needed. Some of my Democrat friends are freaking out, doomscrolling, begging me to talk them off the ledge. I deal with my anxiety by volunteering with our local Dem party writing position papers and letters to the editor, funding and writing postcards to voters, providing environmental advice to our candidates, and making a monthly financial contribution. I’m as aggrieved as the anyone with the national Dems but I’m SICK of complainers who won’t take ACTION. Suggestions? #Politics

Most of my friends know that I volunteer with my county Democratic Party. Nevertheless, EVERY TIME they get some bad news - like today’s dismissal of Trump’s classified documents case - they literally tell me to “talk them off the ledge” as they panic over a second Trump term. Frankly, I’m sick of it. If they don’t want to volunteer, they can donate to candidates up and down the ballot. Action is our ONLY recourse. I’m as aggrieved as anyone but freaking out is not the answer. #Politics

Welp, one more local business has joined my “nope, nope, never” list. It’s the kitchen supply store. Two female employees were going on and on about how unfairly Trump had been treated in his legal cases and how corrupt the judges were. If you work in a business that I patronize and you hold such contemptible views, that’s fine. If you’re brazen enough to talk openly about #Politics (especially MAGA politics), we’re FINISHED. I’ll drop a line to the owner; no point in arguing with these idiots.

Listening to media talk about creating a safe “perimeter” around the Milwaukee Republican Convention makes me wonder: what if the enemy is WITHIN the perimeter? You know: like the insurrectionists still working in America’s Capitol? #Politics

Other than the violence, what’s functionally the difference between a handful of MAGA Republicans trying to overthrow the will of the voters on #January6th and a handful of “Democrats” trying to overthrow the will of millions of primary voters now? No. Seriously?
