Mr. Tan Man and Little Miss Attitude have each had their one-mile morning #sniffari walk and cooled down with one of my homemade Greek yogurt, banana, blueberry, and peanut butter frozen treats. They’re easy to make, #dog tested, dog approved, and perfectly fine for humans during the dog days of summer. Recipe follows in the reply. #DogsOfCoSo

Our neighborhood has been overrun by “doodle” #dogs - labradoodles, golden doodles, Aussie doodles, mini-Aussie doodles and more. Even Little Miss Attitude is asking the inevitable question: if crossing your dog breed with a poodle results in a superior “new” breed, why not just *get a poodle* in the first place?? #DogsOfCoSo Better yet, adopt a shelter dog from the deep end of the canine gene pool.
Want to give your #dogs something special during the “dog days of summer?” Make them these frozen Greek yogurt, banana, peanut butter, and blueberry frozen treats. Dog tested by Mr. tan Man and Little Miss Attitude, dog approved, and perfectly fine as human treats too! Recipe follows in the reply. #DogsOfCoSo
I adopted this awesome #dog from a shelter in 1987. He’d apparently bolted from his home on #July4th, spent 3 weeks in the city “pound” unclaimed. July 5th is always a busy day for animal control folks with lost pets. If you have a dog, be sure they’re wearing a collar with at least a rabies tag. You can make an ID tag from duct tape and a Sharpie with your cell #. If they’re microchipped, be sure database is current. Many pets’ chips still have previous owner info. Be safe! #DogsOfCoSo
Just made a batch of frozen Greek yogurt, banana, blueberry, and peanut butter dog treats for the dog days of summer. Dog tested, dog approved, and pretty tasty for humans too! Recipe follows in the reply. #DogsOfCoSo
Yes, Momma, I know… those gigantic white blossoms of the Datura plant are toxic. #DogsOfCoSo #sniffari
I got this awesome dog from a shelter 4 weeks after #July4th 1987. He had no collar or tags, and went unclaimed for 3 weeks in a city “pound” before being transferred to a shelter. Their guess was that he had bolted from his home due to fireworks. PLEASE be sure your pet has a collar with at least a rabies tag, if not ID and microchip. If your dog is microchipped, be sure the database info is current. July 5th is always a busy day for animal control folks. #DogsOfCoSo
Little Miss Attitude and Mr. Tan Man enjoyed their first ride in Momma’s new - and newly repaired after the accident - electric Volvo C40 Recharge coming home from boarding while we were in New Hampshire. As much as Momma worries about them when we’re apart, they’re none the worse for wear, looking especially fluffy and smelling nice and clean after their “courtesy bath.” #DogsOfCoSo
Little Miss Attitude and Mr. Tan Man are happy to be heading home from boarding in Momma’s electric vehicle, repaired after having been rear-ended over a month ago. Now it’s fully christened with dog hair, nose prints, and slobber. #DogsOfCoSo
Mr. Tan Man on his way to boarding with Little Miss Attitude. They’ve been there before and seem to thrive but I always feel guilty dropping them off. #DogsOfCoSo
Mr. Tan Man (who weighs 60 pounds to give you a sense of dimension) checks out enormous squash blossoms on his morning #sniffari in the neighborhood garden. #DogsOfCoSo
A #sniffari at low tide? Yes, please! Little Miss Attitude enjoyed the earthy scents of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, where placement of recycled oyster shells from local restaurants is creating a substrate for young oysters to help improve and maintain water quality. #DogsOfCoSo
Little Miss Attitude was excited to see a gray fox like this trotting along, crossing our path twice on this morning’s #sniffari. #DogsOfCoSo
Mr. Tan Man has his doubts about the weather on this morning’s #sniffari but having spent two years in an outdoor shelter in South Carolina before he joined our pack, he’s nothing if not stoical. #DogsOfCoSo
Little Miss Attitude and Mr. Tan Man in a reflective moment on the back porch enjoying their “chompy treats.” #DogsOfCoSo
Remembering my first rescue dog “Shadow” who loved any form of transport from car to kayak to motorboat. He once hopped onto the pontoon of a seaplane that pulled up to the dock at our vacation spot on Moosehead Lake in Maine. #DogsOfCoSo
Mr. Tan Man continues his olfactory research at our neighborhood native plant garden on this morning’s #sniffafi, comparing post-rain to pre-rain conditions. #DogsOfCoSo
Mr. Tan Man’s morning #sniffari always includes some time in his beloved “tickle grass.” As he enjoys this sensory delight, I’m grateful for the continuing effectiveness of his flea and tick preventive, because to me, it looks more like “tick” grass. #DogsOfCoSo
Little Miss Attitude has had Just About Enough of Humans Behaving Badly. On our walk to the neighborhood park for her #sniffari we were following a couple, accommodating their pace and the fact that the woman stopped to marvel over everyone’s gardens. When we got to the park, the man ducked behind a tree to *take a leak* despite the fact that there is a well equipped and well maintained indoor bathroom *within sight* about the distance from tee to green on a short Par 3 golf hole. #DogsOfCoSo
