I got this awesome dog from a shelter 4 weeks after 1987. He had no collar or tags, and went unclaimed for 3 weeks in a city “pound” before being transferred to a shelter. Their guess was that he had bolted from his home due to fireworks. PLEASE be sure your pet has a collar with at least a rabies tag, if not ID and microchip. If your dog is microchipped, be sure the database info is current. July 5th is always a busy day for animal control folks.

@cassandra17lina What a beautiful dog and I’m so glad he has a happy home with you. My doggo is deathly afraid of fireworks. We live close to where they set off the big show for the community. They shake the entire house. He is an indoor dog, so he wouldn’t be outside, but he is chipped, tagged, wears a thunder shirt and cuddles under a blanket beside me on the couch. Also gets meds from the vet. I can’t imagine how terrifying it is to dogs who are left outside.
