This is Shadow, one of Earth’s best #dogs. I adopted him in August 1987. He apparently ran away on #July4th, was held for 3 weeks - unclaimed - in the city pound, then transferred to a shelter. July 5th is the busiest day for shelters across America. If your dog escapes, PLEASE check local animal protective services. If your dog’s not microchipped, make sure they have an ID tag and they’re wearing their collar. If they ARE microchipped, make sure their database info is up to date. #DogsOfCoso

I adopted this awesome #dog from a shelter in Massachusetts in August, 1987. He’d apparently escaped on the #4thOfJuly, held for three weeks in the local pound without being reclaimed, then put up for adoption. He lived another 17.5 years and was one of Earth’s best #dogs. PLEASE make sure that your dog has a CURRENT ID tag and if possible a microchip tied to your current info so they can be returned to you if they “bolt” due to #fireworks fright! #DogsOfCoSo #CoSoDogs

It’s #NationalRoadTripDay - my #dogs had never been on a car trip of more than half an hour when we woke up one morning in September 2018 and decided that, given the new path of Hurricane Florence, we needed to evacuate our #NC home. With no plan of where to go, I packed the car with our stuff and the dogs’ stuff while my husband made some phone calls. We ended up driving to #NH for an impromptu visit with both our families. The dogs did GREAT. #DogsOfCoSo #CoSoDogs
