This is Shadow, one of Earth’s best #dogs. I adopted him in August 1987. He apparently ran away on #July4th, was held for 3 weeks - unclaimed - in the city pound, then transferred to a shelter. July 5th is the busiest day for shelters across America. If your dog escapes, PLEASE check local animal protective services. If your dog’s not microchipped, make sure they have an ID tag and they’re wearing their collar. If they ARE microchipped, make sure their database info is up to date. #DogsOfCoso
@no9frcpack My ex husband and I adopted him in 1987; we divorced in 1996. Shadow was about a year old when we got him, and he lived another 17.5 years! My ex called me near the end so I could say goodbye to my wonderful dog.
@cassandra17lina Aww. What a beautiful dog. My doggie is scared to death of fireworks. He wears a thundershirt and hunkers under a blanket inside with me. Our county fireworks are tonight. Right next to where we live. My most hated night of the year.

Glad to hear it!! We had a fan running too, and a loud tv…was still a rough night, just with the neighborhood! Tonight and tom night promise to be even worse here 😣
@TanSuitPlease @cassandra17lina Buddy also wore a thunder shirt, a bandanna sprayed with Adaptil calming spray, and part of a Calming Bite from Zesty Paws during the fireworks. I also had the tv on. It was after the fireworks when the band from the campground was booming loudly that I ran the fan to drown out that sound.
The campground is supposed have a curfew for sounds, but they don’t observe it. Not a fun time for neighbors who prefer the quiet.

ahhh. We tried doggie CBD drops and a “modified” thunder shirt. At first he was better than usual, but then he reached his LIMIT and neither—nothing—helped at that point… exploring more options for tonight!
