Despite my concerted efforts at the gym, my beach body remains unchanged. Yes, I go consistently, yes, I increase the weight and/or reps and add machines to my strength training. I DO feel better, and the endorphins help a lot with pain management, and I take pride in my hard work. Today I was especially amused watching two younger ladies using much lower weights, way fewer reps, and much faster reps than I did. Sounds shallow, perhaps, but I take my validation where I can.
@cassandra17lina i hear you sister.
i often take comfort in feeling fitter, moving easier and w/ less pain, not huffing and puffing after doing a couple of flights of stairs.
but my body likes its fucking shape even if i don't. 🙄
@singlemaltgirl @cassandra17lina I think we are all too critical of ourselves!
@cassandra17lina Sounds to me like you're doing fine.
After YEARS of feeling compelled to conform to "being fit" I've taken a different approach. Don't go to a gym, but spend 4-6 hours gardening in my yard most days. I don't wear bathing suits- prefer au natural bathing (like the manatees 😎 ) and I do feel better.
Bottom line, if what you're doing makes you FEEL good and it's healthy for you- YOU ROCK!
@cassandra17lina Good for you! But, based on that picture, I think you've been skipping tail day.
