One of the enduring sorrows of the Age of Trump is the bittersweet relief that our elder loved ones are beyond the reach of his influence. Brave, decent folks like my father who conducted top secret communications research for the Navy and my father-in-law (whose grave is pictured) who served in the Navy in the Pacific in WWII would be horrified to see Americans embracing a wannabe dictator carrying out Russia’s bidding. I miss you, Dad and Pop, but you’re better off where you are. #Politics
@cassandra17lina I have said the same of my parents. My Dad, a WWII Vet , died in May of 2016 believing that HRC would be the next President. He told me she would be the most qualified Prez ever. He felt at peace leaving our nation in her capable hands. I’m glad neither of my parents had to witness the atrocity that is trump. It would have broken their hearts and mine. 😞
@allin @cassandra17lina I’m glad as well but for a different reason. I fear my dad would have adored Trump and our relationship was difficult enough without that.
@cjcrew @allin @cassandra17lina Even though he had severe dementia, Dad realized Trump was an obnoxious clown.

My fear is just the opposite.
My dad fought the Nazis hand to hand in Battle of the Bulge. After a lifetime of PTSD, he would hunted him down with disastrous results.
@LnzyHou @allin @cassandra17lina My dad was an illiterate racist, which describes the majority of Rumpy’s fan base.

OMG! I feel what you wrote so deeply! First, I am sending your father and father- in -law my thanks and deep gratitude for their service. Respect! Secondly, I have had the same thoughts about my parents and grandparents. I was actually grateful that they weren't here to witness the atrocities of his time in office and his failure to handle Covid-19. I agree, our family members who have passed on are definitely better off where they are! 💙
