With each passing day, I’m happier that I nixed Mr. Carolina’s plan to get a Tesla as my next vehicle. Instead, I’ve been loving my gorgeous, powerful, safe, high tech Volvo C40 Recharge. Oh, and the brilliant folks at Volvo equipped this vehicle with a heat pump to maintain optimal battery temperatures so I’m not freaking out over dying batteries in the cold. Maybe that’s how something like 80% of the vehicles in Sweden are EVs.

OOOOOOO 😍

Nice. I bet it has butt warmers in the seats, too! Those Swedish people think of everything.

@janallmac I am not the sort of person who gets a new car every few years. I traded in an 11-year-old hybrid for this EV. What I find truly amazing is the shift from the “collision protection” mentality that assumes you WILL be in a crash to “collision avoidance” through sensors and automatic braking that assumes that car crashes are NOT inevitable. This EV is a joy to drive, and so fast off the line that other drivers wonder, “where did that blue car GO??”

@cassandra17lina I also love the color you chose. I would 100% buy one myself if it was in-budget. It is not, sadly. But I want to keep up with your experiences driving it, because one can always aspire.

Do you plug it in somewhere, and if so, how did you deal with the plug situation? Did you have to get one installed in your garage or something?

@janallmac We have a Level 2 charger in our garage - as long as we charge during day hours, we’re using our rooftop solar system as the primary power source.

Keep in mind that you can lease EVs if buying is not an option.
