As someone who watched my brilliant father descend into the darkness of Alzheimer’s over 7 years, I worry that I’m destined for a similar fate. As a result, I set up memory and cognitive challenges for myself. Today, I remembered every single ingredient for the World Central Kitchen’s Venezuelan banana bread. I only made this recipe once, so this is a “win.” For great recipes, head to www.WCK.org and order this cookbook! You’ll be supporting Chef Jose Andres and his team feeding those in peril.
@cassandra17lina what a good challenge idea!
@cassandra17lina Have a little yellow pad handy to jot down mundane notes to serve as a record of events for them to reference. Seems trifle, but can help put their mind at ease.
My gram had it and I had residents at work have to deal with it. One called the cops claiming someone stole her letter opener. Turns out a daughter took it to her house innocently.
Another claimed to be forgotten one afternoon when her daughter visited that morning.
Gram was in the double blind for Aricept.

I've been thinking about banana bread lately - and cobblers, and cornbread. I like the daily cognitive challenge idea.
