Driving the enthusiasm of some Trump voters…
The U.S. will become minority White in 2045, as per The Brookings Institute. Article from 2018.

I just got inspired by Paul Krugman's statement:
"Don’t ask whose fault this was. Plenty of time for second-guessing and recriminations. Ask instead, what can you do? For my part, that means telling the truth as I see it, as long as I can. The media will be under a lot of pressure to toe the line; don’t capitulate in advance"
So I won't go away. Our job now is to tell the truth, and report it, as we see it.
@Bix Not a waste. Thanks for your service. We've weathered tougher times in the nation's history. It is not for nothing. We can and will resist.
@DavidSalo It's also when pensions were retired, ERISA was created, and labor unions lagged.
@DavidSalo That's right around the time when dog-whistles about bussing school children began and the divisive politics spiked.
IMO the American experiment started to fail when we failed to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment. Just before that was our high-water mark. Since then, downhill; yes, a few advances on particular issues, but the overall sweep toward greater rights and freedoms at that point stalled, sputtered out, and started first creeping, then racing backward.
@shadow_queene Hang in there, Amy. We have as a country suffered through the Civil War, Jim Crow, and a first-term with Trump. We are stronger than they are.
People don't understand economics enough to realize how crazy it is to criticize someone by saying they're a socialist and then demand to know why they aren't controlling the prices of necessities.
@Pat_Walrond No apologies needed. Americans are truly fools. Every time I think people cannot be that stupid, Americans rise to the occasion and say "hold my beer."
