As the impeachment vote winds down, I cannot think that hearings would have become a rabbit hole, as R members were exposed as not just supporting T, but also the insurrectionist. In many ways, the vote now saves us from having to arrest members of Congress for insurrection right before the inauguration.
Remind me again, this is the USA, right?
My biggest issue with the disparity in how BMS protests vs MAGA protests were handled is what will happen with the next protest.
I can hear the press conference now: "Jan 6 is what happens when police show restraint, thus we responded to this new protest with force."
I fear that now all protests will be considered an act of insurrection at the level of storming the Capitol building because that's how rationalization works.
I fear for us.
Still processing anger today about what happened at the US Capitol yesterday.
Seeing so many messages across my feed by those arrested in previous protests for doing much less than a frontal assault of the building while Congress was in session.
13 more days and maybe we can start the long process of repairing our culture.
It is 8:40 PM, but being it is also almost the end of 2020, it feels like it should be much later. And also because it is 2020, I feel like I just out of bed (14 hours ago).
The next 26 or so hours just cannot happen fast enough, but also I want my last day off this year to last as long as I can make it.
All I can say here is murder hornets.
I'm really not all that interesting, unless you consider the coffee-fueled mania that is the day-to-day struggle of my love affair with data interesting.
