Currently 200 items left on my DL list. New SSD says 356gb free space left. So I should be able to finish the list and still have space to install/play disc games. .. well, maybe game, singular 😀 Biggest PITA: games that aren't labeled. Waste of bandwidth. Funny to look at the files sizes, whole games under 30gb. That's a patch today, lol.

Our internet was down for the last 21 hours. After this morning's deep clean of the RV, I launched Audacious, selected the "ambient" genre, and let the music flow while I read a book. The Lost Airman. Good read, took me about 4 hours. Here's a review from Army University Press: armyupress.army.mil/Journals/M

Here's how I spent my morning. Installed a TB SSD in my PS3. Now I'm working my way through the DL list. I hate this stupid list so much, I'll need glad to be done with it. Also, going through it reminds me how Sony definitely took more chances in the past. .detuned? Linger In Shadows? They had some interesting stuff going on with this console.

Recently played through High On Life. Yeah, I'm aware of all the shit going on there. It's on so I didn't buy it outright. It was aight. Decent shooter with good mechanics and talking guns. Mercifully you could shut them up some in the settings. Funniest bit in the game is there's a theater you can materialize that's playing a seriously bad movie 3 aliens in the front row riff on. Sat through the whole thing lol.

Cloudpunk (Multi, played on )
You are Rania. It's your first night on the job at Cloudpunk, a no questions asked delivery service. It's going to be a long one.
This game is Voxel Bladerunner: Delivery Walking Sim. You fly around Nivalis making deliveries and meeting interesting characters. The music, setting, stories, ambiance are great. The controls are mostly good. The voice acting is the one weakness. Still, I enjoyed it 👍

Not how I wanted to spend any part of today: reinstalling my OS. Not sure what happened when, but after the usual morning update Discord froze then failed to reopen. Attempt from terminal came back with "read only" errors. Somehow my home folder got locked to read only. So I'm currently on a live disk copying things off the SSD to prepare for a fresh install. Twice with this OS since I started using it. Not great. Will be looking for something else, I think.

Arcade Paradise is fucking excellent. You have a Game Pass sub, you really have no excuse not to check it out. Also it's $20 most places (ProTip, GoG has it on sale for $13) and well worth it.

Owning a has made me forget about how behind the state of Linux gaming still is. Bought 3 bundles recently, 2 Humble(RPG Legends, Myst & more), and a publisher one on . RPGs all work 👍 Myst almost none of them work. Found a workaround for half of them: ScummVM, which I had installed already. Launch, add game, point to folder in Steam library. The publisher bundle I struck out on, none of em work(on my PC 😬 ). Guess I'll be tinkering with Wine.

I played through the starting area of Fallen Earth this morning. Considering how much work it took to install the game AND get it to launch, even through Steam (on Linux), it was pretty amazing to see it running again. It's the closest we may ever get to Fallout MMO. Yeah it's old and janky, but it sure brings back some memories of when I first started playing it over a decade ago. These days it's entirely FTP, which is nice.

Return To Monkey Island (Multi, via for me)

A triumphant return 😁 for Guybrush Threepwood and company. Guybrush once again faces LeChuck, this time in a race to recover the Secret of Monkey Island. This is old school point and click puzzling at its best. Everything in this game is great, acting, animation, puzzles, 4th wall moments, jokes, music. Hated to see credits roll, but sure enjoyed the journey. It's a must play!

Rolled credits on Kena: Bridge of Spirits so here's a little review.

TL;DR: It's very good. Good story, good controls, good acting, good gameplay.. till the finale. Wasn't what I expected, and after a few tries I had to turn the difficulty down. Getting old sucks. However, highly recommended to all gamers.

ProTip: 5 days is too long to not start a car with the always plugged in dash cam we have, apparently. Bonus ProTip: you can jump a car off an RV battery, charge it too if it's shore plugged to the grid, Partner had a few days off so the truck hadn't moved for a bit. RV Park scheduled an asphalt seal for today so I had to move it, which is hard to do if the battery is dead, heh. Dash cam was the only thing that could have drained it, so I guess I know not to leave it plugged in too long, now.

Rolled credits on H:FW's Burning Shores today and boy did I hate to see em, lol. Thoroughly enjoyed that. Still sad about Lance, and curious how they'll address it in the next game as it is obvious he was going to have more than a small role to play. Gotta figure out what's the next game on the "to play" list. The backlog is calling...

So I tried actually playing MLB The Show 23 via Greenlight, took some practice swings, see if the latency was something that would smooth out over time since there aren't any settings I can adjust on the console or app that affected it. Yeah.. not gonna be remote playing any "fast twitch" games on Xbox, lol. I cant say I'm surprised that XBox remote play doesn't work as well as PS5. I usually tend to use the Xbox in the evenings tho so it'll be ok running that big heat producing monitor then.

Got Greenlight working this morning. Wouldn't "see" my console even with "remote features" checked, figured out I needed to test remote play first. Connected no prob then. Tested it out but didn't actually play anything. Seems pretty good, tho I noticed some sound stuttering and some frame skipping. Hopefully something I can smooth out in settings. Not having to use that big monitor will help during hot days this summer. Keep the RV cooler.

Pic of my first test of Chiaki, a PS4/PS5 remote play client, Steam Deck version. Installed the sandboxed client from git, then tested. Did the process to set up a wake up script and add the client to Steam. So now, in Gaming mode, it wakes up my 5 and runs in fullscreen. Loaded H:FW and ran around for a min, testing controls and such. Runs so smooth I feel like I stole a Project Q prototype. 1080p looks pretty good on a small screen.

That moment when you're unsure if the reason your PC has locked up 2 mornings in a row is because

1. It's fucking old. (12 yearsish)
2. Firefox is just not really a usable browser any more.
3. The mostly unknown bleeding edge rolling release Arch-based OS you're running.

I update every morning then do my usual internet routine: hit the socials, catch up on YT subs, check emails/RSS while listening to my SoundCloud feed. Last 2 days the PC has frozen, had to reset. *shrug*

Dido - Thank You (Skeler Remix)

This is quite an amazing rework. Couldn't remember so I looked up the release date of the original track and now my back hurts.
