Planet of Lana (Multiplatform, played on #SeriesX ) Lana and her new pet rush to save her sister/others from robot abductors.
This a 5 hour "run right" platformer much like Limbo/Inside. Some mild puzzles made up of sneaking past enemies combined with tricky jumps/rearrange the stage to continue progress puzzles. It's very pretty while minimalistic. Not great on accessibility tho, with rapid button press QTEs and long press actions. π #Gaming #CoSoGaming #VideoGames

Olle must find, follow and then save his sister from the Mountain King. This is a short game, 8.5 hrs, but damn it's good. And dark. I knew Scandinavian folklore was dark but jeez. I quite enjoyed this tho. Good platforming, bit of stealth, combat against giant bosses. There's a couple places it isn't obvious what to do. A few cheap deaths from hard to judge jumps. Still, π π #Gaming #CoSoGaming #VideoGames
Man I really like my #SteamDeck Updated the keys/firmware and still have some frametime issues so it's a bit stuttery, but playable. #Gaming #CoSoGaming #VideoGames #Switch #SuperMarioBrosWonder

Hardspace: Shipbreaker (#SeriesX, #GamePass)
Sign up with LYNX to salvage ships in near Earth orbit. It's a great job, if you don't mind getting killed and being charged 2.5 billion credits on your first day.
Good controller input scheme makes zero-G wrangling ship parts with lasers, demo charges and a grapple gun fun, actually. Story is amusing, and subbed default so this is a good podcast game, like PowerWash Sim. π #CoSoGaming #Gaming #VideoGames

Well there's https://peertube.tv/ which is a federated alternative. Naturally it doesn't have anything like the content YT has, not that I'm sure that's a bad thing.. but it is something keep an eye on, hopefully more creators/curators will decide to also host/move their content to it as YT gets more enshittified.
As an example, https://tilvids.com/home is an edutainment curated peertube instance.
Well I completed the main story of Starfield. The "exposition" at the end certainly felt pretty lackluster. Stepped through the Unity and .. eh. Looked up the deal with NG+ and wasn't really impressed with what they did there sooo, I'm done. And that's ok. I quite enjoyed the 230 hour journey. So much so that I decided I wasn't done with space yet, so I started Hardspace: Shipbreaker. Starting a new job 1.25 billion credits in debt? π€£ Corpo bullshit. #Gaming #CoSoGaming #VideoGames #Starfield
Working on collecting the last of the powers and then I'll be stepping through "the Unity" today. Have done all the side stuff I could find that wasn't bugged (looking at you, ECS Constant.) Curious to see what NG+ has to offer. After 230 hours, I'm not sure there's much left for me to want to do, but I guess we'll see. #Starfield #CoSoGaming #Gaming #VideoGames
Starfield sure has some pretty moments. It's been a nice escape the last month+, that's for sure. Think I'm winding down on side stuff tho, so I'm probably going to be finishing the main story soon, maybe within the week? #Starfield #CoSoGaming #Gaming #ScreenShot
@kaehlys @Davski Huh, weird.. I did the showdown between the 3 heads and once I had sided with Frank/talked Aman down, GK and friends instantly agged on me when dialogue completed. Interestingly, GK "teleported" to the back of his enclave, so I had to go through his followers to get to him.. but had no bugs, quest completed no issues. I'm on Series X, so no mods and only whatever patch(es) had happened by the day I did the quest. I was also level 56(ish), companion at the time was Hadrian.
@Davski Yeah I made sure to loot GK's kit just because lol.
@Davski Well, GK just rubbed me the wrong way, and after going to the facility and seeing what happened there, I figured (and maybe this is a US bias on my part) Franklin had the best idea. And I was able to talk down Aman, so she and Franklin made it.
Found the Crucible last night in Starfield. That was an interesting side quest. As usual with Bethesda, I left there with more questions than answers. But I also got a new rather famous co-pilot. IYK, YK. #Starfield #Gaming #CoSoGaming #VideoGames
After 3 installs failing to boot the kernel post Grub, I figured there were some kind of driver issues or something. So I booted into recovery mode and let it run, then Ctrl D'd to continue and boom, login screen. Logged in, updated, and rebooted. Let it go on its own and it got to login screen no problem. So hello again from the fresh install, woo! Currently setting up my games and stuff etc. #PC #Tech #DIY #Linux #Garuda
So I forgot that yesterday Comcast was going to be doing "network improvements" (sure, buddy) in the area so we didn't have net most of the day. Postponed the OS fresh install to today. About to get started. Doing the last "did I back up alllllll the shit I should?" checks. Also catching up on all the news I missed yesterday, heh. #PC #Tech #Linux #DIY
Prepping for a fresh install of Garuda on the "new" PC today. Things are working better since I built this PC and installed my boot drive, but there's still some wonkiness left over in the OS from being installed on a failing Mobo. I wanna give this OS a fair shot with a clean start on working hardware. Yeah, yeah, "just go plain Arch". I'll get there eventually. I like the ease of use Garuda provides with its assistants. And I'm learning the Arch "language" this way. #PC #Tech #DIY #Linux
All told, this was a decently easy and "fun" build. Fractal makes damn fine cases, and this Meshify should help keep these parts clean in an RV in the city with 4 cats in it, lol. Built in dust filters for the win. I especially like how well it handles cable management though. I didn't have to add anything to the case for that, it was all built in and perfectly placed to set up the nice clean look you see in the pics. *fin*
and in the silence at 645am, heard the telltale *whirrCLICK, whirrCLICK, whirrCLICK* that signifies a dead HDD. Bummer. It's a decade old so, good run, and nothing on it that wasn't backed up already. So opened the back of the case up and pulled the HDD. 500gb, for the price I paid for it in 2012 I can prob get like a 10TB bare bones HDD these days, heh. Looking forward to Cyber Monday sales *rubs hands together*
Buttoned the case up and lugged it back to its home. Hooked up all the accessories and powered it up. Had a mini heart attack when the primary display didn't .. display. Secondary kicked on like usual tho once the login screen was reached. Thought the display had died, tried new cord. Screen snapped right on. Phew. It's 11pm at this point, so I didn't do much but make sure my night noise would work and passed out. Got up, noticed the HDD wasn't listed. Updated, rebooted....
Installed the PSU and ran the cables through the excellently placed ports in the case. Put the CPU in the socket and mounted the DeepCool heat sink, which took a half hour longer than it should have cause I lost a screw. Found a replacement after giving up finding it. Installed the ram and mounted the board to the case. Lugged it to the bedroom and did a Mobo post test. Success, yesss. Unplugged it and installed the GPU and SSD/HDD. Wired up all the components and fans, added 2 to the case top.
Linux enthusiast since 2007, gave up dual booting in 2012. Currently run Garuda. Agoraphobic, Sociophobic. Hates Nazis. Likes cats. LGBTQ+ Ally. Gaming is life.
