Linux folks.

What is your favorite note taking app?
I would prefer it store notes in flat text files, but at least NOT in a database.
Requirements:
Fast search, clean simple text input, and interoperability wound nice.

Ya I have played with Obsidian. And it seemed great. But too many options, suffers a bit from bloat.
Looking at others.

@corlin @john_b 17. Zim Wiki is my daily. I use the ToDo, Journal, and git integrations.

Probably even *less* what you're looking for, but I started playing around with SilverBullet last night and am seriously impressed.

It does a lot of what Obsidian can do, but as a self-hosted PWA rather than a messy Electron-based app.

@john_b @corlin Looks functionally similar to Zim. Zim doesn't offer any sort of dev environment afaik
