@Lindy the chickens don't want 'em but the rabbits do. And for kindling (if it ever gets cool) the stems are fantastic starter.

@b4cks4w Some folks eat them, but some of those complain of stomach upset. I've never tried them, but that's good info about the rabbits. I've never tried to start a fire with the dried stems, but I'll remember that. Note bene: echinacea stems also make good starter, as do the stems of mexican sunflower(Tithonia).

@Lindy I haven't eaten them; the roots are supposedly decent starchy something, but...potatoes are less work for more food IMO.

nope, unfortunately, because they are tasty.
