I hear voices from center left folk in the EU, saying we need to arrange a way out for Putin. Some kind of face saving deal. Where he can declare victory and bring his troops home. Perhaps give him the southern provinces.

Never allow a bully even a partial victory, he will always hit you again.
No mater what happens Putin is done.
And Russian influence in the world is greatly diminished.
