Yep, 2 yr old nephew confirmed RSV. He’s doing better & is off Oxygen now. There is concern about his 6 month old brother so I hope they’re having him tested as well.

Nephew update: yesterday he was on 6L blended flow O2. Overnight he was up to 12L on cannula with 40% O2 but it didn’t make much of a difference. This morning Doctor decided to put him on a cpap, give him some sedation to help him rest and move him to intermediate care (next step is intensive care if doesn’t improve).

⚠️ Please get vaccinated. Even though nephew has RSV not Covid he needs the hospital resources. If you can get vaccinated & avoid hospitalization pease do so.

Please get vaccinated from covid so kids like him can have the hospital resources to get better and live a long life ❤️

The IV in his hand is going bad & he’s not getting the sedation he needs so they have to put in a PICC line. They may or may not put him on a vent. He’s had a 103° Fever since overnight so Dr very concerned about that. Going to draw blood and swab his mouth to check for bacterial infection.
Hoping things start to turn around soon.
After having 2 premie NICU babies in 2-1/2 years my brothers family needs a break.

PICC line was successful. Hopefully now the nurses & doctor can manage his sedation better so his body can rest & fight off the RSV infection. No word on blood tests.
