Anyone experiencing sibling estrangement? Ghosted by a sibling & you have no idea why? Or by factors outside your control?
How do you deal with it?
@anita_rotheram I donāt really talk to my brother or my step siblings any more.
I know why, though.
In terms of dealing with it, I live very far away from them (other side of the planet) so Iāve never had high expectations that they will do any work to keep in touch so I just created my own circle of humans I actually like.
But for people who were close to sibs and no longer are, can be hard so sorry youāre going through that.
Talking to them an option?
@Astro_yyz I tried to talk him last year about plans for my elderly momās care. He said he ādidnāt need detailsā and he ācan get all the information from momā. In other words, not interested in my observations/opinions or even how Iām coping. I wasnāt surprised or angry, just relieved that he had lifted the burden of communicating with him from me. Iām respecting his request now.
@anita_rotheram sorry to read though; my brother is similar. Doesnāt want to hear info- similar issues too! My sister and I (mainly my sister) are taking care of my Mum at home and while we donāt consult him, there are times when we really wish he could help more.
Families, eh?!
