@LaurelGreen crap - Joe does this frequently. He needed to have these questions pre-answered so he could respond accurately.

@DevinY1 he's doing well in setting up a major difference between himself and the orange menace.

@KGinKS it's symbolic an important gesture but it'll never get a vote given the makeup of the House. No one would dare cross the aisle even though they should.

They're actually adding to our nation's debt while swimming in profits.
Sort of a reverse Robin Hood.

One has to remember these companies are taxed at a lower rate than your teacher, fireman or factory worker.

Pure greed. It used to be just oil companies attempted to sabotage elections, now it's every major corporation - including news organizations.

Interesting numbers:
According to Statista, corporate profits in the U.S. have grown significantly since 2000, when they totaled $786 billion, to around $3.5 trillion in 2022. In the final quarter of 2023, corporate profits after taxes stood at $2.8 trillion, which is a $105 billion increase from the previous quarter. This means that corporate profits accounted for about 10% of the total quarterly GDP.

This election has far reaching consequences for countries around the globe. We can't afford to have alliances that have kept us safe for decades fall by the wayside.

"Why aren't we hearing more about the logistics that make it impossible to replace Biden!?"

Because the media exists not to inform you about basic facts or reality, but to spin up a horserace that keeps you clicking for more.

@ACG2 @DrJackBrown I'm sure that at least 50% of Americans couldn't tell the difference between Epstein and Elon Musk if shown side by side. There lies the problem.

Biden visited a church on Ogontz Ave today.

But from the media coverage, you wouldn't know that 1)he stayed for the entire service; 2)he delivered a speech; and 3)the congregation stood up and chanted "FOUR MORE YEARS!" afterwards.

All you heard in media was about the small group of protesters that stood out in front of the church at Ogontz and Stenton.

Let's just say they weren't sufficiently "dressed" for COGIC services. And they WEREN'T waiting for the 6 bus.

@BrentSullivan that's a major achievement in Houston. I visited the university there one July. It was over 100° at midnight and you could cut the air with a butter knife! I've been off the bike for the past week. Humidity in Philly is at a stupid level. Not safe for me and no breaks coming in the next week. Fall can't come soon enough!

@feloneouscat @TheAbbotTrithemius I'm just recovering from surgery for prostate cancer. Medicare covered much of the associated treatment costs. I hope that you're getting great care. You'll be in my thoughts.

@feloneouscat @TheAbbotTrithemius oh no, not at all. There isn't a day that I don't think of Nancy's life. Not so much her death, but her life. She'd be pissed as a hornet if she were present today. We both shared tears in November of 2016 and then we marched every chance we had.
People forget, your thread helps us not to forget.

"The crisis Biden revealed to the world last week is not about age. It’s about courage."
Great article that speaks to the unspoken part of our culture the last ten years and probably further.

@sentientdessert and Joe has been able to avoid going on shark and battery rants so far. The other guy? Not so much. That's really just a small sample of his variety of nuts.

This is based on a fantastic Politifact page. A lot of data to digest and it is REALLY, REALLY important that you FACT CHECK reality before making your decisions.

Trump was a fucking horror. He remains a monster.

Biden has had nothing but America in mind for his decisions.

Trump only had one person in mind: himself.

We cannot NORMALIZE selfishness like this. Biden isn’t the problem.

Why the fuck don’t Americans see this>

@feloneouscat @TheAbbotTrithemius Thank you so much for this thread. I lost my wife of 32 years in April of 2020. She didn't pass of covid, but her labored breath wasn't enough to get her into an emergency room immediately at the height of the pandemic. We waited overnight to get her tested at a remote site. They rushed her to the hospital where a blood clot took her life. She was alone as I wasn't allowed to enter the hospital. Trump's inaction was directly responsible. For me, it's personal.
