As for the multicolumn on the browser based... In the beginning, look over the Firehose. If it's going by a bit quickly just click and drag it up a bit... That will stall the continual scroll... As your gaining more and more people to follow... Your My Friends feed or is it Home now.... Will start filling up... I spend nearly all my time in my Home. And my Notifications...
It's really just multiple Twitter columns... Reach with their own subset of people taking..
