Good Morning CoSo.

I'm halfway thru the new hot SciFi novel Three Body Problem... and *meh* if someone told me I couldn't finish the book, I'd be okay with that.

I've come far enough and it's holding my attention well enough that I plan to finish it, but I doubt at this point I'll bother to read the other books in the trilogy OR watch the Netflix adaptation (which based on name of stars attached to it, is going to be white-washed)

The characters just aren't "real" to me.

thoughts anyone?

@XSGeek I also struggled to connect with the characters, and attributed at least some of that to the level of abstraction provided by the translation.

But I was very interested in the plot and enjoyed reading to the end of the trilogy, even if it was a bit of a slog at times.

Kind of same boat for me. The plot drove me, less the characters.

@XSGeek Yeah, it definitely feels like there's a language barrier as well as a culture barrier that made it a little bit difficult to consume.

@john_b @XSGeek - same. I liked the plot, but for the first half the book, it seemed as of they were 2D anime characters. It got better, but the 2nd book returned to this. (And the emergency the first book kept hanging on wasn't there so I didn't finish it)

@XSGeek
I enjoyed it after the slow start and mediocre development. It did pick up. I'll read the next two but not back to back.
