Good morning from the of .

We're still here. Other than the Cocoa Beach tornado, I haven't heard of any significant damage in our area. The eyewall just passed through here so we're experiencing peak gusts.

The lies about the government controlling the reminded me of, when I worked education at , how I'd be asked "where are the NASA weather machines." People insisted NASA had weather machines on the coastline controlling the weather!

I'd tell them there's no such thing, go see for yourself, but they wouldn't believe me.

It didn't happen often, maybe five times a year, but it *did* happen.

@LnzyHou Shaken but not stirred.

I think our little hamlet is through the worst. Cocoa Beach had a significant tornado but we're through the worst of the rain, at least in the forecast.

Brevard County Sheriffs Office (BCSO) reporting a significant tornado just hit Cocoa Beach. One of the deputies said it's "at least an EF-2." Many businesses damaged as well as homes.

If you want to look it up on Google Maps, search 1775 N. Atlantic Avenue, Cocoa Beach. That's the Wells Fargo that lost its roof. The tornado started at the Resorts at Cocoa Beach and moved northwest. Many homes damaged on St. Croix Ave. behind the Publix.

Here's the local police and fire for Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral, Merritt Island, etc. They're reporting damage from a tornado in the area of SR-520/Banana River Drive.

My former agency (1980s) has the first law enforcement in the nation.

Whether this is good or bad is a matter of opinion ... It won't be used on patrol, mostly for drug prevention programs. Back in my day, we converted confiscated drug dealers cars for promotions or undercover work. We once dressed up a confiscated Ferrari with agency decals and a lightbar. Everyone took pictures. 😊
