Regarding the polls that think has the Republican nomination already clinched ...

A September 30, 2007 poll of those who "lean Democratic" found Clinton led Obama 53%-20%.

On the "lean Republican" side, Giuliani led Fred Thompson 30%-15% with McCain third at 12%.

So don't pay attention to the polls.

In fact, this article reports Trump has virtually no ground operation in Iowa, bad news for a caucus state.

For all the Sturm und Drang inflicted on us by mainstream media polls lately ... Take a look at , specifically (scroll down) "How Biden Compares with Past Presidents."

Most presidents have had similar numbers at this point. The honeymoon inevitably wears off. Reagan was at 43.3% at this point, as the nation came out of a recession. Obama was at 43.5%. Biden is at 40.0%.

The only poll that matters is November 5, 2024.
