#Politics BREAKING from #NYTimes: #Trump lawyers have sent a letter to Judge Merchan asking to overturn his conviction on 34 charges of fraud. The lawyers cited today's #SCOTUS immunity ruling.

I'm impressed that the White House came up with this speech in about eight hours. Short, sweet, to the point.
He tied today's immunity decision to SCOTUS taking away voting rights, and Rowe.
He called out Trump by name.
He said he won't be a king.
We the voters have to decide what future we want.
A longer speech would have lost the audience's attention. Short enough to scare people without losing them with asides and hypotheticals.
This is exactly what he needed.

I'll be looking to see if #Biden tells the nation that the same #SCOTUS justices who tossed Rowe are the ones who gave a criminal president immunity.
The common link? Trump nominated three of them. The other six came from Republican presidents.
The message is clear -- Republicans are bent on ending our constitutional republic.
These justices handed Biden and the Democrats a big gift, if they'll use it.
Even worse ... #Trump has said he intends to be a dictator on Day One. Think of what he can do now, since his motives cannot be questioned.
Not only can he order DOJ to drop all federal charges against him, but he can order DOJ to arrest the state prosecutors in NY and GA.
Congress can question his motives through impeachment, but good luck with that.
The ban on questioning motives is just as bad, if not worse, than just the immunity ruling, in my opinion. (2/2)
So here's a scenario ... The #MAGA majority ruled today that #Trump is immune for any "official acts" while in office, and that his "motives" may not be questioned.
If he's re-elected, what's to keep him from issuing an executive order requiring all travelling federal employees to stay at Trump hotels? The executive order is an official act, and his corrupt motive may not be questioned. (1/2)
Idle thought ... This morning's immunity ruling may backfire against #Trump. The voters may be horrified by the notion of Trump or similar sociopath in the White House with virtually unchecked powers.
#Biden may be looking better and better. Yeah, he's old, but he's not going to throw you in Gitmo for having an abortion.
#Politics While we await today's #SCOTUS #Trump ruling, I take a little solace in knowing that whatever they rule, it will apply to all presidents, not just Trump.
If the MAGA majority rule Trump is above the law ... so is #Biden.
Biden could then order Seal Team Six to the Supreme Court building to have the justices rounded up. Unless Congress impeaches and convicts him, it's legal. If Biden refuses to leave office, it's legal.
Maybe that will scare them enough to think twice.
