Fun Fact ... The Republican National Convention begins four days after sentencing in New York City. 🀣

is claiming his conviction was a plot.

If that's true ... All the more reason to vote for !

From :

"The many supporters who populated the park across the street from the courthouse all week long are nowhere to be seen. The police presence is greatly increased, but it’s mostly members of the media and a few curious locals."

Typical Yankee fans ... as soon as it looks like they're going to lose, they head for the exits.

Andrew Weissman on calls today's verdict a "rebuke" of and Judge Cannon. They're talking about how the verdict might affect the SCOTUS ruling about presidential immunity.

My comment ... It's a state trial, nothing to do with federal crimes.

"Trump Media shares sink 9% after Donald Trump conviction"

Idle thought ... NOW, will Melania file for divorce?! πŸ€”

From :

attorney Todd Blanche moves for an acquittal of the charges, not withstanding the verdict.

Blanche says there's no way the jury could've reached the verdict without the testimony of Michael Cohen, and that the defense believes Cohen committed perjury at this trial.

Judge Juan Merchan denies the acquittal motion.

From :

"Frowning, the former president grabbed his son Eric's hand and shook it rapidly, before starting to walk out."

He shook his son's hand?! Jeez, any normal parent would hug his son.

just called the trial rigged and a Biden plot.

But for those watching , I guess they know now what the charges are. 🀣

From : Judge Merchan dismisses the jury for the day. They reconvene tomorrow morning at 9:30 AM EDT.

Personal opinion ... However the jury concludes, my impression is that they're taking this seriously and doing their due diligence. This isn't the O.J. trial jury who blew it off because they wanted to go home.

From :

Judge Merchan has received a second note from the jury.

"We the jury request to rehear the judge's instructions," the note reads.

From :

"Judge Juan Merchan asked if they can disable the WiFi capability on the laptop that the jury has. Prosecutor Susan Hoffinger said they'd look tonight and make sure it's off."

To keep them from looking at anything not related to the case, methinks ...

From :

"As we await the jurors, prosecutors and defense attorneys are paging through binders, seemingly on a search for the passages in question."

Just my speculation, but given these requests from the jury it looks like they're focusing on the catch-and-kill through the National Enquirer, not on Cohen so much. Since Trump praised Cohen, and since the defense never attacked Pecker, this could mean the jury believes the catch-and-kill is the lynchpin of the scheme.
