Just my opinion, but I think Judge Cannon is fishing for any excuse to dismiss all charges. Since when is a prosecutor supposed to show "professional courtesy" to a defendant?! That's nowhere in the law.

It occurs to me that, after he's found guilty, Trump will have an opportunity to address the judge before sentencing.

Most defendants would admit guilt, show remorse, plead for mercy, etc.

No way Trump will do that.

He will call the judge corrupt, claim is behind all this, say the trial was rigged, complain that the courtroom is an icebox, ad nauseam.

The judge will lock him up and flush the key. (2/2)

attorney Emil Bove says the defense does not expect to call any witnesses after Robert Costello.

The judge notes that can change.

That means the Trump defense team called only two witnesses -- one was a legal aide in Blanche's office, the other was Costello who was hostile to everyone and got admonished by the judge. Trump will be lucky if he doesn't get the death sentence.

The first witness, Robert Costello, has been verbally abusive to the judge and to the prosecution. Judge Merchan ordered the courtroom cleared and apparently chewed out Costello. The trial has resumed, but Costello is still mouthing off to the prosecution.
