#Politics Not meant as a snark, but a serious question ... Would the Dems have done better if they'd stuck with Biden instead of tossing him overboard for Harris?
Kamala ran a great campaign, no doubt, but if the white male voters ran to #Trump because they didn't want to vote for a woman of mixed ancestry, would some of them voted for Biden? Or would we have lost other voters who thought he's too old?
A question for political scientists and historians to answer.
@WordsmithFL Curious, i was wondering that today.
@WordsmithFL We have an uninformed and ignorant populous he promised them to dollar a gallon, gas and eggs at two cents or less or free on day one and they fell for it hook line and sinker
This is the comprehension level we’re dealing with here
THIS ^^^
@WordsmithFL good question, and maybe. It's hard to say what toll continuing to run would have taken on his health.
I've been thinking the same exact thing. But I doubt that it would have made a difference,.
@WordsmithFL The problem were not white male voters. The ones that voted for Trump or didn't show up were young, 19-29yo, and latino men. Neither of these demographics was strong for Biden. In fact, they wanted to punish democrats because they make Biden responsible for high inflation and cost of housing.
BTW, nobody tossed Biden overboard. He chose to run knowing he is not well
We lost this because Biden declared he was the only one able to defeat Trump and he was running for re-election.
A true primary campaign with Harris, buttigieg and what ever other candidate wanted to take a shot would have introduced candidates to America and let them decide who to support.
We were denied that.
@WordsmithFL Had Biden done what he implied he would do and stated that he would not run for reelection right after the midterms, there’s a good chance the Dems win the White House and the House. Because then we would have had a competitive primary, and while the VP would still be the favorite she would have been pushed to hone her message faster, maybe choose a different running mate and she could more convincingly separate herself from Biden.
@WordsmithFL I personally think it would've been the same. Sadly, the US is not ready for a woman leader.
