Happy Caturday, y'all!

Landlord said I could paint the fireplace mantel & surround. So, I did. White for mantel & faux painted a 'marble' on the tile. A lot of work, but I had to look at it every day, & it was disturbing my 'wa'. Landlord is pleased.

Don't know what the deal was with the swirly stuff on the hearth around the tile, but I didn't want to mess with it (I mean, I could have fixed it, but it's a rental, so . . .), so just painted it.
BTW, always happy to dispense advice if you need help with a project.

It's not raining at the moment. It's been a deluge for the last few days here. Can't wait to see the sun shine again.

And . . . Dumbass Debby washed my big golden orb spider away.

So, we had a ton of rain. Luckily, no house flooding near me. But the backyard is now a swamp & doesn't want to drain much yet.

Hope nobody here had house flooding!

With all the gray skies & rain we've had (coastal NC - Wilmington area), I've only seen my spider lady-friend in the gloom.

Here's one in the sunshine. Finally!

My new spider lady friend bagged quite the breakfast. Looks like a male suitor is trying to share the meal. (Look above her.)

I have been assured by my new neighbors that this spider is a good one. Lordy, I hope they're right. It's creeping me out. About 3-4 total width.
