@DyDave Like so many Gen X kids, I was introduced to this song in the Spy Hunter arcade game. 🚙

When our band director added this to our pep band repertoire, we thought he was cool for knowing about the game. 😅

Turns out he was — and the song is — cooler than that. This and the Pink Panther were my introduction to Mancini. 🎷

Many foundations, organizations, corporations, and other entities are caught up in this tidal wave of timidity and fear that’s sweeping this country. I mistakenly thought we were better than that. This is the kind of acquiescent behavior that leads to authoritarianism.

@Cosmichomicide @Usama_Backhair Perhaps the solution is to... I don't know... maybe *stop having people do things that cause brain damage*, when we know there's no real way to prevent said brain damage from happening when they do the thing.

(Most) sports in a nutshell: a bunch of grown ass adults aggressively fucking around with a (usually spheroid) symbolic object in such a manner as to practically guarantee many of them end up with severe CTE, as a form of ritual conflict / entertainment.
