@Monty1234 @Usama_Backhair No worries now.
Today, they’d give someone in death agony a couple of Tylenol to combat the deadly opioid addiction.
The pendulum always swings too far & suffering is at either end.

@carmahaz Yup!
My brother broke his foot b/c he fell intentionally on it to avoid falling on their little dog ad killing him, when he went to the e-room they all but called him a drug seeker for wanting pain meds.
He's an army trained RN supervisor who had worked the previous 10 years uninterrupted, STILL they looked at him like a junkie🙄

@Monty1234

@Usama_Backhair @Monty1234
A friend w/chronic illness who was living life w/assistance of pain meds. Doctor would no longer prescribe due to doctor’s fear of addiction or perhaps more likely the DEA. Now bed ridden, hasn’t worked for 3 months. 2 veteran friends (both agent orange victims) gone in the past 2 years. Pain meds pulled, one gone due to suicide & one due to heart attack (I believe due to suffering without relief) both were productively living life before pain meds pulled.

@carmahaz
I'm sorry to hear about your peeps😳 🙁 Like I said, we need some instruction in healthcare delivery from The Aussies and the English, we need to listen

@Monty1234

@UnTied
Yeah, it's true. So the people who actually need relief get looked at side eye in a hospital

@carmahaz @Monty1234

@Usama_Backhair @Monty1234 @carmahaz
Pretty much. I tried to get a new Primary doctor because I wanted a more complete approach than mine is giving me. I talked to the new doc, and when he saw oxy on my med list, his tone changed to one of suspicion. I asked if there was a problem. He was honest (He was a new partner) and said the oxy concerned him. I said, "20 mg scares you?" "NO"
Me: "So what's the problem? Do you suspect something?
Him: No, but we need to be careful.
***** Hmmm

@UnTied
Yeah, probably he thinks that it's gonna end up contaminated by Fentanyl or something and they'll lose you. Maybe get raided or something. A trump plan to address a crisis always seems to attack to good people and benefit the douches 🤷‍♂️

@carmahaz @Monty1234

@Usama_Backhair @Monty1234 @carmahaz
My biggest concern is my 29 yrs of sobriety (alcohol). I successfully managed to be on oxy for years and never increased dosage nor moved on t anything stronger. But, if I am left to manage pain mentally, what will happen? It really is scary. I dont have a car yet. I am stuck in a far-off corner of a little town, and yet a twelve pak is within walking distance.

@Usama_Backhair @Monty1234 @carmahaz
Thanks! Twice as long as I have ever managed to stay married. 😱

@UnTied Sometimes doctors don't use common sense. I remember an elderly patient who drank two glasses of wine ever night. So they labeled her an alcohol abuser and put her on meds to prevent withdrawal. I wanted to yell at them JUST GIVE HER HER DAMN WINE, ITS THE ONLY PLEASURE SHE HAS!,, But I was a chicken.

@Smccune55 I would have said it. Folks usually have mis-informed opinions about alcoholics. But, I have lots of sobriety, and usually that gives me some street cred. I had 30 days, in the motel with mattresses for wallpaper, to think about many things when I dried up in 1989. I have seen and heard and experienced a lot. I decided then, that every new friend I make will know in short order that I am an alcoholic. Its just so much a part of my identity now.

@Usama_Backhair @Monty1234 @carmahaz a couple years ago, an old lady jumped into my lane from an oncoming lane to hit my vehicle head on. Once I got to the emergency room, they asked me if I "wanted morphine." (Implying I was there just for that purpose)

@JanetZumba_FalPals
It's just shocking to me. And there's a better way too. Like @UnTied says, Oxy is a very effective drug if they'd stopped designing it to wear off early so they can sell more, and designed it with the patient's needs in mind, I doubt anyone'd be in this mess who had taken it. You know, there'd be some, but not as bad as it's gotten, which makes everyone get treated like a "suspected drug seeker" first, "patient" second 🤷‍♂️.

@carmahaz @Monty1234

@Usama_Backhair @Monty1234 @carmahaz @JanetZumba_FalPals
It makes it difficult to even discuss. Once I knew the new doc had pegged me as a doctor shopper,it was over.

@UnTied
That really sucks man, sorry for your trouble, maybe talk to him again and explain you're a sober person with real pain. Try to get through his judgement wall, there's got to be some people he knows who aren't trying to "have a big party" but manage real health issues? I wish you luck on this one🙄 💛

@JanetZumba_FalPals @carmahaz @Monty1234

@Usama_Backhair @Monty1234 @carmahaz @UnTied I cannot say enough good stuff about a Subaru's airbags. Plenty airbags keep a driver safe

@JanetZumba_FalPals
Yeah, I've heard all kinds of good about Subarus, including their technology being right up their with Volvo, glad you were okay

@UnTied @carmahaz @Monty1234

@Usama_Backhair @Monty1234 @carmahaz @UnTied @JanetZumba_FalPals
Just don't press the "Test Airbags" button while the vehicle is in motion.. 😂

@justawolf @JanetZumba_FalPals @carmahaz @Monty1234 @Usama_Backhair
Hahaha! I know. Thos damned things are blasted into position with a explosive charge! DAYAAM!

@UnTied
Oh hey, God....I know what I wanted to say to you: do you like spicy food? I was going to say if you do, eating really good, spicy food or taking cayenne pepper supplements really, REALLY helps with constant pain, especially in the trunk area. If you can tolerate it, it really helps. It gives relief, maybe won't take it all away, but it eases it significantly.

@Monty1234 @carmahaz @JanetZumba_FalPals @justawolf

@Usama_Backhair @justawolf @JanetZumba_FalPals @carmahaz @Monty1234

You know, A friend had once given me a recipe for a juicer. I need to dig that out again, but I know the recipe had lots of Cayenne. guess, among other things, Cayenne helps with inflammation, which is out of control as well. Isn't inflammation the leading cause of chronic pain?

@UnTied @Monty1234 @carmahaz @JanetZumba_FalPals @justawolf yes, and constant inflammation damages the thing that’s inflamed, it’s very bad in pretty much all ways

@Usama_Backhair @justawolf @JanetZumba_FalPals @carmahaz @Monty1234
Now that I have to watch mt diet closely, I will pay attention to inflammation, and will keep plenty of Cayenne around!

@UnTied @Monty1234 @carmahaz @JanetZumba_FalPals @justawolf I put Sriracha sauce in my soup, ketchup for fries, salsa on any protein like eggs or Chicken, even though my Pancreas always gets Inflamed after I eat, it gets less inflamed when I keep the spicy going or take my cayenne capsules

@Usama_Backhair @justawolf @JanetZumba_FalPals @carmahaz @Monty1234 bZAGAN,
Thanks againfor all of your help. I got some good info! 😂 🤣 😇

@Usama_Backhair @Monty1234 @carmahaz @UnTied @JanetZumba_FalPals

My dad was a PA who worked with chronic pain patients and lost his license for over-prescribing opiods.

They didn't take into account that he was prescribing to people who have long-term pain, many of whom will never be rid of it.

Then there's me -- who has chronic pain that's not helped by opiods. I still get treated like I'm drug-seeking, but what I need are muscle relaxers and nerve pain meds.

@Gierchak @Usama_Backhair @Monty1234 @carmahaz @JanetZumba_FalPals @tyghebright
Fortunately I live in CO.I use edibles at night. It helps a lot, but is very expensive for as much as I have to use. The oils did nothing unfortunately. Lidacaine works ever so slightly.

@tyghebright @JanetZumba_FalPals @carmahaz @Monty1234 @Usama_Backhair
Speaking of which, I take 9 mg of duloxetine (Cymbalta) each day as part of my shingles neuropathy treatment. I really dont know if it helps.

@UnTied @Usama_Backhair @Monty1234 @carmahaz @JanetZumba_FalPals

I have gabapentin which I use as needed... which is an unapproved usage, and I can't tell if it helps, since sometimes my fibro pain only lasts a little while anyway.

Being in Texas, I don't fit the very narrow and complicated requirements to use CBD legally.

@tyghebright @JanetZumba_FalPals @carmahaz @Monty1234 @Usama_Backhair

So sorry. I didnt realize that Texas had any means at all to allow for consumption of Mari J. I use Gabapentin - the maximum allowable dosage... 1800 MG daily. It is the best maintenance med I have for the neuropathy.

@UnTied @Usama_Backhair @Monty1234 @carmahaz @JanetZumba_FalPals

The only exception is if you're diagnosed with "intractable epilepsy", placed on a state registry, and prescribed "low THC" CBD by two physicians.

@Usama_Backhair Yes, with all the new peeps, J might have to work some magic.

@Usama_Backhair @carmahaz @Monty1234 @JanetZumba_FalPals @tyghebright @UnTied Not really but I tend to dip in and out and catch up when I am here so it could be more noticable to you.

@UnTied @Monty1234 @carmahaz @JanetZumba_FalPals @tyghebright I worry about folks taking Gaba, that stuff seems to cause depression, does it work on your pain?

@Usama_Backhair @tyghebright @JanetZumba_FalPals @carmahaz @Monty1234
Yes. It is the only thing that I now for sure works for this pain. The others I should have the docs wean me me off the others just to see if there is a difference.

@UnTied
Yeah, make them keep tabs on the gaba intake and check in w/urself on how you feel, that stuff is nothing to fool with. From what I've heard.

@Monty1234 @carmahaz @JanetZumba_FalPals @tyghebright

@Usama_Backhair @tyghebright @JanetZumba_FalPals @carmahaz @Monty1234
I have prolly read the same scary stuff. That is one of the reasons I want to see if the other pain meds I take are even doing anything.

@tyghebright
I hated gabapentin when I was prescribed it. I hate most meds though. It made me shaky.

Non-invasive laser treatment and alternating hot/cold water therapy has served me well. I’ll do about four rounds each. Hot tub then cold dip until my heart rate comes down. Repeat. The heat feels like it opens up the blood vessels and the cold shrinks them and the overall effect on the surrounding nerves is good.

@JanetZumba_FalPals @carmahaz @Monty1234 @Usama_Backhair @UnTied

@Museek @Usama_Backhair @Monty1234 @carmahaz @JanetZumba_FalPals @tyghebright
Sounds like a lot of work. But if it provides relief? Hell yeah. Do yo go to the doc for that treatment?

@Museek
I got prescribed something similar and I stopped taking it after like 5 doses, , made me shaky, like you said, Only the shakiness was after I awoke the next day, nasty drug.

@UnTied @Monty1234 @carmahaz @JanetZumba_FalPals @tyghebright

@tyghebright @Museek @Monty1234 @carmahaz @JanetZumba_FalPals @Usama_Backhair @InvaderGzim
We are wading into the afternoon hours and I am getting stupider as the day goes on!🤣

@UnTied @Museek @Monty1234 @carmahaz @JanetZumba_FalPals @tyghebright @Usama_Backhair

Just make sure that they warm their hands and instruments first...

That's all I'm sayin'...
