@Monty1234 @Usama_Backhair No worries now.
Today, they’d give someone in death agony a couple of Tylenol to combat the deadly opioid addiction.
The pendulum always swings too far & suffering is at either end.
@carmahaz Yup!
My brother broke his foot b/c he fell intentionally on it to avoid falling on their little dog ad killing him, when he went to the e-room they all but called him a drug seeker for wanting pain meds.
He's an army trained RN supervisor who had worked the previous 10 years uninterrupted, STILL they looked at him like a junkie🙄
@UnTied
Yeah, probably he thinks that it's gonna end up contaminated by Fentanyl or something and they'll lose you. Maybe get raided or something. A trump plan to address a crisis always seems to attack to good people and benefit the douches 🤷♂️
@Usama_Backhair @Monty1234 @carmahaz
My biggest concern is my 29 yrs of sobriety (alcohol). I successfully managed to be on oxy for years and never increased dosage nor moved on t anything stronger. But, if I am left to manage pain mentally, what will happen? It really is scary. I dont have a car yet. I am stuck in a far-off corner of a little town, and yet a twelve pak is within walking distance.
@UnTied
Damn! Tha's a long time, Congrats. On a + note
@Usama_Backhair @Monty1234 @carmahaz
Thanks! Twice as long as I have ever managed to stay married. 😱
@UnTied Sometimes doctors don't use common sense. I remember an elderly patient who drank two glasses of wine ever night. So they labeled her an alcohol abuser and put her on meds to prevent withdrawal. I wanted to yell at them JUST GIVE HER HER DAMN WINE, ITS THE ONLY PLEASURE SHE HAS!,, But I was a chicken.
@Smccune55 I would have said it. Folks usually have mis-informed opinions about alcoholics. But, I have lots of sobriety, and usually that gives me some street cred. I had 30 days, in the motel with mattresses for wallpaper, to think about many things when I dried up in 1989. I have seen and heard and experienced a lot. I decided then, that every new friend I make will know in short order that I am an alcoholic. Its just so much a part of my identity now.
@Usama_Backhair @Monty1234 @carmahaz
Pretty much. I tried to get a new Primary doctor because I wanted a more complete approach than mine is giving me. I talked to the new doc, and when he saw oxy on my med list, his tone changed to one of suspicion. I asked if there was a problem. He was honest (He was a new partner) and said the oxy concerned him. I said, "20 mg scares you?" "NO"
Me: "So what's the problem? Do you suspect something?
Him: No, but we need to be careful.
