Most of my friends know that I volunteer with my county Democratic Party. Nevertheless, EVERY TIME they get some bad news - like today’s dismissal of Trump’s classified documents case - they literally tell me to “talk them off the ledge” as they panic over a second Trump term. Frankly, I’m sick of it. If they don’t want to volunteer, they can donate to candidates up and down the ballot. Action is our ONLY recourse. I’m as aggrieved as anyone but freaking out is not the answer.

The media articles today reminded me of the Jo Cox murder. A rightwing goon killed this UK MP in broad daylight while shouting "Britain first" in the run-up to the vote.
When this happened, I thought this was it. This was the signal to end the bitter division sowed by the Leave campaign. For one day, this was true. The very next day, they continued with their divisive campaigns, and the UK was embroiled in paralyzing infightings for several years.
