What bands (any decade) do you think, that had name recognition, never made it as big as they could have? Whether it be poor timing when they went mainstream or other reasons?

@Timmah1979 the band leader was Kevin Gilbert. He was the musical genius behind Tuesday Night Social - Sheryl Crow. Unfortunately he took his own life shortly after making a great record with TM
