I think it shows excellent taste in friends that 0% of the people I follow on any social media are mad about today's trial. Past Me did an excellent job cutting ties with people who don't think I should have basic human rights.

Live your life in such a way that the whole world doesn't rejoice when you are finally convicted.

I give up.

Downsizing, selling antiques and collectibles, donating what we can’t sell, and then prepping to put the house on the market next year. Plus, all the stuff I’m doing with the Democratic Party and my writing. That’s keeping me swamped with to-doing between now and this time next year.

I did a ton of stuff all week. Drove back from MN Monday. Did all the errands Tuesday. Took Mom to STL to get her hearing aids fixed on Wednesday. And a friend’s dog had a bladder stone emergency and has been at the vet since Tuesday, so I’ve been moral support all week. He's doing well and should come home tomorrow, but whew. And yesterday I drove my neighbors to the food bank.

Peopling tonight was the single thing I could say no to. I’m gonna sit down, read a book, and maybe nap.

Tonight is the Progressive Democrats potluck dinner. We have an overabundance of lettuce and Swiss chard, so I cut it up for salad, and I'm packing up toppings for people to put on it. Really hoping they eat it all. 🤞🏼 Mom is going, but I'm staying home because I'm too exhausted to people.

14 hours in the car is a lot of adventure, though.

Also, like Bilbo, I forgot my pocket handkerchief.

Throughout the era of Trump, I have been both annoyed and baffled by the way reporters incessantly focus on his mood. It really reveals the mercurial and whim-based decision-making we were expected to normalize. That sort of temperature-taking behavior is common for those living with an abuser.

Tonight, I am going to see Loony Toons at the symphony, and I cannot think of a better way to encapsulate this week.

Tornado sirens going off. We are huddled in the downstairs bathroom, waiting for the storm to pass.
