Tomorrow I have a Democratic lunchtime meeting, and I only just remembered I have to bring a dish. 😳

Looks like it’s time to bring out the triple chocolate brownie mix, diet be damned.

Mona killed two baby sparrows that were learning to fly and landed in our backyard. We took them away and disposed of them, putting her inside. She was clearly big mad because she went over and pushed her buttons to say "Momma, Delia, outside food. Outside. Food. Outside. GOOD MORNING GOOD MORNING GOOD MORNING." Not at all creepy. And when I told her "No, no outside food, baby," she went into the living room and told Alexa to play Enya because I guess Alexa doesn't tell her no. 🤣

Today, the frat boys next door came over and mowed and weeded and raked our yard for us. We were so grateful, we gave them our old fire pit that we were just going to put on FB marketplace. Hopefully, it will be put to good use and not annoy the neighborhood. 🤣

Everyone is out to get Trump and nothing he's ever done was wrong. The End.

I ordered myself a Tens unit and vagus nerve stimulator attachment to try to help with migraines, tinnitus, and inflammation. Has anyone else tried this treatment? If so, tell me about it.

Mom and I tried to start watching Dead Boy Detectives. Mona got scared two minutes in and after barking at the screen until we gave up and turned it off, she pushed the button for “blanket” and then “Alexa, play Enya.” This dog is a critic. 🤣

- I said “Yes, there’s water outside. It’s okay. ” And she looked up at me, paused, and then walked to the other room to say “blanket”. I think she was scared of the storm and didn’t know how to tell me what was wrong. Once I put her on my lap, she settled down again.

My dog, Mona, has learned 12 words/phrases so she can communicate with Fluent Pet programmable buttons. Her current buttons say: food, water, good morning, outside, go car, Momma, Delia, mail’s here, bedtime, blanket (which means she wants cuddles), Alexa lights on, and Alexa play Enya. Dog genius. This weekend when storms were moving through, she kept going over to say “water” “outside”, “water” “outside”, alternating between the buttons very deliberately. -

Today, I realized that my new iPad could be paired with an old Apple TV and an older, smaller flatscreen television that was sitting unused in the kitchen. Now I have a new writing space where I can focus just on that one task. So happy!

Also, I didn't win a billion dollars. Curses. Foiled again. I was so ready to learn to live in the style to which I'd like to become accustomed.

Every month, Mom and I go through our electronic subscriptions to see what we don’t use anymore. Today, we quit Audible, Starz, iTunes Match, BritBox, and AMC+. We also switched our Disney+/Hulu to the ad version, and bundled Apple News and Apple Fitness along with our other Apple One subscriptions to save $3 a month since we were paying for those separately before. Amazon Prime, Netflix, and HBO Max got a reprieve. Both of us feel great satisfaction each time we reevaluate these subscriptions.

Tonight, I’m making jambalaya for Easter dinner because why not.

Also, I forgot to thaw the turkey in time.

So tired of Missouri political nonsense, y’all. So tired.

I’m going ostrich mode for a couple of weeks. I need a break from my anxious mind. See you on the flip!

Mona saw the university’s orthopedic vet today. She has moderate bowing of her front legs. On a scale of 1-10, she's at 3 on her right front leg and a 4 on the left. Enough to cause some discomfort, but not enough to warrant surgery at this point. For six months, we’re going to track her bad days. In the meantime, she's to lose 2-3 pounds (no more beggin strips 🙈🙉🙊) and give her doggie ibuprofen. Then we can revisit it. Surgery is likely not necessary. He said she is otherwise very healthy. 🎉
