Dear Typhoid Mary who sat next to me on the plane and coughed for 10 hours,

Please go walk barefoot on legos for your next trick.

Signed,
I wore a mask and was fully vaxed but got COVID anyway.

@TheRealDelia this happened to me a couple of years ago too. 🤮

@TheRealDelia Years before COVID I sat across a young woman on a bus who coughed the entire trip between A.C. and NYC and exposed me to TB. Yeah, that was fun.

@TheRealDelia Covid sucks too though. Hopefully you recover quickly!

@Silverneurotic @TheRealDelia Perfect. I got COVID early on from my brother when we drove 150 miles together in a rented Ford Festiva.

@TheRealDelia @Silverneurotic Your ordeal sounds much more unpleasant. My brother wasn’t symptomatic yet.

@poemblaze @Silverneurotic I wish I’d asked to move. But I didn’t want to be that person. 🙄

@gemswinc At least my mother isn’t showing symptoms so far. I’m isolating from her and hoping to keep her safe.

@TheRealDelia I hope it works! At least you're home, I thought you might be stuck on the road, with covid

@gemswinc No, thank goodness. And at least it didn’t ruin our trip.

@TheRealDelia @gemswinc
When my kids got it from school and I had to take care of them I wore a face shield and mask, kept windows open and them in their rooms and washed hands and steam cleaned surfaces of common areas.

@TheRealDelia When Covid first hit here, before the vaccine was even available, I was at work and this one old guy came in wearing a mask, he started coughing and lowered his mask off so he could cough all over everything, then once his coughing fit was over, he put his mask back up. 🙄

@TheRealDelia And thus why I don't fly any more. I stopped in the early 2000s when I was seated next to a guy who was sweating so bad it was soaking through my clothes and who, ultimately, had to be medevaced from the plane 4 hrs later.

@TheRealDelia I was sick for 2 weeks, then got pink eye and wasnt' allowed to return to work by the company docs for which they blamed me. I also ended up with an herpatic eye virus which I believe contributed to my early cataracts.

I am not complaining here. I just always encourage folks to use the train when at all possible.

@poemblaze @TheRealDelia After 18 months of blindness when they could not do surgery ... it's great (that was 6 years ago) although I sometimes have to wear readers. :)

The cataracts were so sudden that I drove 3 hrs to a place in the morning and in the afternoon when I went to drive back I could only see blobs of colors from my left eye. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@TheRealDelia She shouldn't have been allowed to board the plane if she was coughing that frequently and was obviously indicative of being infected with something. Airlines need to be more pro-active.

@TheRealDelia Hope, you get well soon and your Mother doesn't get ill, either.

@TheRealDelia
I am so sorry that happened to you. Sometimes you have to be "that person.". I was at a medical appt the other day. I was sitting alone (masked) and a person sat next to me. I got up and moved. I didn't care what they thought. Hoping you have a speedy recovery and so GLAD you are vaxxed.

@TheRealDelia Im sorry that happened. I hope you recover quickly and that your Mom stays healthy.
