Not to brag, but I was feeling unfunny, unlikable, and wholly inadequate on the bird app long before the public view count feature was added.

@Shelter Basically, it enables anyone who looks at a tweet to see how many views it's gotten, whereas this info was only available to the original poster before.

And since literally EVERY tweet has far more views than likes, it's making people feel very inadequate.

That's very odd.

@Shelter My best guess is that they're actively try to make people feel insecure enough to sign up for Twitter Blue.

@Shelter I could certainly be wrong, though. I mean, it's not like Elon Musk to operate in bad faith.
